Persian is the primary language spoken in Iran. The Islamic Republic of Iran was the formal name of the Iranian state. The large area between the Caspian Sea and the Persian Gulf, is typically called “Iranian” by the people who live there, and has been for almost twenty five years. Southwest Asia is where Iran is located. In 1979, the Republic of Iran was established. Iran covers around 636, 000 square miles. The capital of Iran is Tehran. The central plateau of Iran consists primarily of solid rock, that connects to surrounding tall massive eroded mountain ranges.
The nation’s highest peak is in Iran as well at 19,000 feet. Due to the changes in altitude and rainfall in the nation, Iran experiences extreme climate changes, ranging from sub-polar to subtropical. It can get as hot as 130 degrees, and as cold as -40 degrees. Due to the climate variations, so does rainfall vary, anywhere from two inches to eighty inches. Donkeys are still used to transport grass loads and other items. Iran is still typically a desert. Any room in a home in Iran can serve as any purpose, except the room for cooking, and the room for use of bodily functions, all other rooms are used for meeting, having family come over, sleeping or eating. Starting with a dish of fresh greens, and unleavened bread, and cheese. The main dish is steamed rice served with a stew, which resembles a mild curry. They eat very little meat, and have a prohibition against pork. Their main drink is black tea. Under Islamic Republic, alcoholic beverages are forbidden. Fish is typically eaten for New Years Celebration. During Ramadan, the Islamic month of fasting, from sunrise to sunset, no food is consumed. Iran produces oil products, they also export cotton, carpets, caviar and some fruits and nuts. Under the Islamic Republic, Iran now has good broadcasting facilities for television and radio. There is an automobile and bus assembly plant, along with a steel plant in Iran. Health care in Iran is relatively good, an average person lives to be around 70 years old. If a man happens to die, the male children get the inheritance of their father’s estate, the daughters and wives get half-shares. Dating back over 3,000 years ago, the country has had proud civilization. Among the richest in the world, is Persian culture.
